Product description
Light Grey Celtic® is a mineral-rich, whole crystal (coarse), moist sea salt that is completely unrefined and hand-harvested. Dried by the sun and the wind; it retains the ocean's moisture, locking in a vast array of vital trace elements. Light Grey Celtic® gets its light grey hue from the pure clay lining of the salt beds where it is harvested.
Light Grey Celtic® is harvested from clay-lined beds with wooden utensils at the Brittany region of France. The salt farmer traps seawater in estuaries during high tide and lets it evaporate to a point where there is high salinity. From there, the brine is channeled into the harvesting beds via a series of channels. As the brine evaporates, the crystals form and sink to the bottom. The salt farmer scrapes the salt crystals into piles and once drained, it's taken to the cooperative. The salt we get from France may have been harvested by hundreds of families!
Light Grey Celtic® is perfect for daily cooking, baking, direct application such as finishing salt, pickling, and use in a grinder. The whole crystals dissolve with heat and moisture, enhancing food with its rustic, old-world flavor while adding vital nutrients to your diet.
Tip: If you use this Light Grey Celtic® in a grinder, use grinders that do not have metal parts to avoid corrosion with the moist salt.
