Coenraad J. van Houten:

Was a Dutch chemist and chocolate maker born in 1801, son of Casparus van Houten. He treated cocoa mass with alkaline salts to remove the bitter taste and make cocoa solids more water-soluble, known as ”Dutch process chocolate”.

With his father, they introduced a method for pressing cocoa butter from roasted cocoa beans, resulting in the invention of the cocoa press.

Their legacy of Dutch process cocoa brought their indulgent cocoa to people worldwide.

 

Preparation and Usage

Preparation

1. To make a cup of soothing Cocoa Drink, put one teaspoon of Van Houten Cocoa Powder into a breakfast mug.

2. Fill the mug with boiling water and quickly stir. It is essential that the water should be absolutely boiling.

3. Add skimmed milk powder or low fat UHT milk or evaporated milk.

4. Add sugar to your desired taste.

5. To make a cup of the finest invigorating Chocolate Drink, put up to two and a half teaspoons of Van Houten Cocoa Powder into a breakfast mug. Follow steps 2, 3 and 4.
