Leca is a Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate, formed by the heating and firing of clay in a rotary kiln, at temperatures of up to 1150Β°C. The process transforms the clay into various lightweight ceramic granules, which have a hard ceramic shell and a porous core. This porous core serves as biological surface area for microbes and bacteria to colonize and thrive. Microbes and bacteria are crucial to your plant health at root areas. They form symbiosis relationship with plant roots. Leca is also an inert material and does not affect water quality such as PH.
This brand of Leca comes in 40liter pack and was repack to smaller 5liter bags. So you will not see original packaging. Original packaging is to illustrate the brand in which the leca is from.
