1. How to care, maintain and season the pan?
With proper seasoning and care, it will not rust and will lasts for a long time.
a. Scrub the pan in hot soapy water.
c. Spread a thin layer of vegetable oil over the whole pan.
d. (If using stove) Place the pan on a stove, dry it with low heat.
e. (If using oven) Place it upside down on a middle oven rack at 190 °c.
Bake 1 hour; let cool in the oven.
f. After cool off, store the pan.
2. Why is cast iron not smooth or minor stain on surface?
Your new cast iron pan is a natural element and just like your skin, it has a wide open pore. It will absorb the liberally coating of oil and create a natural non-stick coating after proper seasoning.
3. What should I do if it rusts?
Cast iron pan can be restore to previous condition quite easily, so do not throw it away because of that. Wash off the rusts with hot water, mix with some white vinegar, then gently scrub off. After that, begin season the pan.
