Catharanthus roseus likes high temperature, and is not tolerant to severe cold; it likes the sun, tolerates half shade, avoids humidity, and is afraid of waterlogging; the most suitable temperature is 20℃-33℃; it can be cultivated in general soil, but it is well-drained and ventilated sand High quality soil or soil rich in humus is better, saline soil is not suitable; flowering and fruiting periods are almost all year round.
① Sowing time: The suitable temperature for seed germination is 20-25℃, usually in March to May for sowing and propagation, and more annual cultivation. In order to bloom earlier, seedlings can be sown in the greenhouse in early spring, given a 20 ℃ environment, and moved to the open field when the spring is warm.
② Seedbed preparation: The seedbed should choose a place with a high and cool terrain, a south facing sun, and good drainage. The substrate is best prepared with peat + perlite at a ratio of 3:1, or leaf soil, poured with 500-600 times carbendazim liquid, and then loosened and leveled the ground to make a 1.2-meter-wide border surface.
③Sowing technology: sowing by sowing method, about 1000 grains/square meter. After sowing, cover with thin sandy soil. Do not expose the seeds directly to light. Use a fine watering can to pour enough water and cover with a film or straw curtain to keep the soil moist. Seedlings will emerge within 7 to 10 days. After emergence, remove the film or straw curtain and gradually increase the light. The seedling period grows slowly, and grows faster after the temperature rises. It takes time for seedlings. In order to prevent catharsis of Catharanthus roseus, 800 times of chlorothalonil or thiophanate methyl should be sprayed once a week for 2 to 3 weeks.
1. Catharanthus roseus is suitable for spring and autumn sowing, it takes about 20 days to germinate slowly.
2. Seeds hate sunlight and need to be covered with soil.
3. Not resistant to stagnant water and high humidity.
4. Slightly poor cold resistance and relatively heat resistant.
5. Adequate sunlight is required during the growth and flowering periods, and sufficient sunlight is also beneficial to prevent the plants from growing excessively. Insufficient sunlight in winter and lower temperatures are not conducive to growth.
