Dolomite is a naturally occuring mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate. Ground Magnesium Limestone is dolomitic limestone ground into powder form. 

 

 

WHAT IS GML USED FOR IN GARDENING AND AGRICULTURE?

 

As a soil conditional to adjust pH

If applied correctly, GML increases the pH of soil to provide an optimum condition for nutrient uptake and good environment for soil microorganisms to thrive.

 

Calcium and Magnesium

Calcium strengthens cell walls and increases resistance to disease. Calcium is vital in making sure the plant develops and grows properly and avoids dying or withering too quickly. It’s very similar to the role of calcium in the human bones. 

 

Magnesium  increases chlorophyll production in leaves thus enhances the green colour of the leaves. 

Some common magnesium deficiency symptoms are a characteristic interveinal chlorosis pattern where the veins remain green but tissues between the veins turn yellow, leaf curling, stunted growth, and lack of sweetness in the fruit.

 

HOW MUCH SHOULD I APPLY?

For potted plants, apply 1-2 tablespoons. Measure the pH after 1 week. Apply again until the desired pH is achieved.
