HOW to Choose? (PM seller if you do not know how to choose & use)
1. Coarse Stones - Less than 1000 Grit:
For fast repairing dull or chipped or damaged blade or re-shaping the blade bevel-angle, the coarser the stone, the quicker the process. Make sure not to use coarse stones for normal sharpening.
2. Sharpening Stones - 1000-3000 Grit
For initial sharpening, not for maintaining blade edge.
3. Honing/Finishing Stones - 4000 to 25000 Grit
For final polishing and refinement/maintaining of the edge, for your regular knife honing.
1. Expensive oil is NOT required, use only water for lubricating the stones.
2. Store the stones ONLY until it’s completely dry after use. If not, mold will grow on the stone and affect its quality.
3. Please use the WHOLE surface of stone to keep the consistency when sharpening knives.
4. Protect the stone well and avoid it falling from the height.
5. Light shooting and different displays may cause the color of the item in the picture a little different from actual product.
6. Non-slip bamboo holder (can be purchased separately or in add on deals) helps securing so don't have worry Japanese whetstone slipping off the counter.
7. It's normal to have small chipped corners as these are hard stones and it's hard to be cut perfectly, you can ask for refund if the chip is too unacceptable.
8. Whetstone COLOUR may be DIFFERENT from batch to batch, this is due to different colour dye used in the process of colouring, grit is not affected by the colour.
