The story of "Parthiban Kanavu" is set during the Pallava dynasty in South India and revolves around the love story between the characters Prince Vikraman and Princess Kundhavai. Prince Vikraman is the son of the Pallava king Parthiban, who lost his kingdom to the Chola king Narasimha Varma Pallavan II. Princess Kundhavai is the daughter of the Chola king Narasimha Varma Pallavan II.
The novel beautifully portrays the love and sacrifices made by Prince Vikraman and Princess Kundhavai amidst the political turmoil and conflicts between the Pallavas and the Cholas. The story is filled with intrigue, betrayal, romance, and heroism, capturing the essence of the historical period and the cultural richness of ancient Tamil Nadu.
