• As you use a regular mechanical pencil, the lead wears down on one side, forming a slanted wedge-shaped tip.

• This can cause dramatic and unsightly variations in line thickness as you write or draw.

• The Kuru Toga eliminates this problem with the use of an ingenious lead rotation mechanism that continually rotates the pencil lead as you write.

• The Pipe Slide sports a sliding sleeve that allows your paper surface to slightly push the sleeve back into the pencil while you write.

• This leaves a nub of graphite exposed as the lead wears down so that you don’t have to extend it as often. The pencil tip can also retract completely into the body.

• This feature prevents the metal sleeve from getting bent or poking pesky holes into your pockets and cases.

• The Kuru Toga engine inside a Pipe Slide pencil rotates twice as fast as that of a standard Kuru Toga: 20 strokes per rotation versus 40 strokes in the standard models.

• The standard Kuru Toga is ideal for writing complex characters with many strokes because of its higher stroke count per rotation. Simpler scripts such as Roman characters use fewer and longer strokes.
