Deglet Noor dates are light brown (honey-colored), medium-sized (about 5-6 cm), elongated and translucent.
Other date varieties have a much darker color.
Texture Deglet Noor pitted dates are semi-dry, soft, firm, with medium-thick and delicate skin. They also have a medium level of fiber. Other varieties like Medjool are soft with higher moisture content. Taste The flavor of the Deglet date is delicate and distinctive. They have a relatively less sweet taste when compared to other varieties.
Pitted noor dates are medium sweet, chewy, and nutty, like browned butter or cashews.
Uses Pitted Deglet dates have a moderate sweetness. They are great to incorporate both in baked goods and whole dishes. Other dates with a high sweet profile arenât great in whole dishes. You can also include them in your salads as they are easy to chop and dice and do not become mushy.
