Directions For Use: USE FULL STRENGTH. DO NOT DILUTE

Pre-Operative Preparation of the Skin:

1. Wet the operation site with water.

2. Apply SEPTIDIN 10% for 5 minutes, rinse off with water using wet sterile gauze.

3. Paint the surgical site with SEPTIDIN 10% using sterile gauze and permit to air dry.

Minor Burns, Wounds & Skin Infections:

1. Apply twice daily to affected areas with clean gauze or cotton bud.

Description:

Povidone Iodine is an iodophore in which Iodine is bound to the carrier molecule, povidone. The complex (Povidone Iodine) slowly liberates inorganic Iodine when in contact with skin and mucuous membranes. Only a small amount of Iodine is released at any one time, giving Povidone Iodine a lower irritant potential and longer duration of microbiacidal action than convention Iodine solutions. It is bactericidal, fungicidal, sporidcidal and virucidal.

When applied to skin, SEPTIDIN 10% forms a brown-coloured film which indicates that activity is present. The film does not stain fabric and can be washed off with water.

PRECAUTIONS: Local irritation or hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Discountinue use immediately if symptoms develop.
