Seamaster Paint Protective Primer Coating 1376 Grey Green - 5L

Seamaster Protective Primer Coating is an economical anti-corrossive primer based on oil-modified phenolic resin.

USES

As a primer suitable for use on all ferrous and non-ferrous substrates. It may e used as a temporary protective coating for up to 3 months - the primed articles exposed will have tendency to chalk; it has to be thoroughly cleaned, derusted and reprimed before final topcoat.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Ingredient : Oil modified phenolic alkyd, mineral extenders, iron oxide and additives

Solvent : mainly aliphatic hydrocarbon

Density : 1.4-1.5 (kg/litre)

Solid : Approximately 65%

Viscosity : 120 10 secs (Ford Cup 4 at 27  0.5˚C)

Coverage : 11-14m²/litre

Colour : 1376 Grey Green

Gloss : Low sheen

PROPERTIES

Recommended Dry Film Thickness : 30-40 microns per coat

Drying Time : Touch dry : 1 hour

                    : Hard dry : 4 hours

Recoating Interval : 6 hours

SURFACE PREPARATION

Metal Surface:

Ensure that the surface to be applied is free from dirt, grease, rust, millscales and other contaminants. Rust and millscales can be removed by manual sanding orr wire-brushing.

Previously Painted Surface:

Surface to be painted must be thoroughtly clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, Loose material or flaking paint. All loose paintwork must be scrapped off and defective areas should sanded down and spot primed with suitable undercoat before painting.
