Q1: Why use Elixir Strings?
A1: They are engineered for great tone & long life
: The only coated string brand to protect the entire string with an ultra-thin coating
: They are anti-rust plated steel strings that resist corrosion
Q2: Which strings to choose?
A2: Default gauge for:
- Acoustic guitar: size 12
- Electric guitar: size 9
- Lighter touch (for acoustic): size 10 or 11
- Higher gauge (for electric): size 10
* If you’re a heavy metal player (usually play with drop tuning), you may opt for 10-52 Light/Heavy gauge
Q3: What is the difference between the gauges?
A3: Gauge means the size of the strings
- Smaller number means thinner strings; thinner strings are easier to press and produced sound will be brighter
- Smaller number: size of highest string
- Bigger number: size of lowest string
Q4: String coating differences?
A4: Polyweb: Original coating (Warm tone & Slick/Fast feel of strings)
: Nanoweb: Thinner coating than polyweb (Bright tone & Smooth feel of strings)
: Optiweb: Optiweb Coating (Crisp tone & Natural feel of strings)
Q5: When will the strings be delivered?
A5: Product stock is constantly updated & available
