How to remove the PEI from the existing plate (credits to eohl79)

Just take the PEI bed and put in a big zip lock bag with kitchen towel on it, spray WD40 on it and let it soak for an hour. Then get a window scraping knife from Mr DIY and remove the glue easily without much effort. Like butter.
